* \u00a0 The Reserve Bank has left the interest rate unchanged, the repo rate remaining at 5,75 %.<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The retail trade experienced a ‘fair to middling<\/em>‘ Festive Season trade<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, and the projection is that 2015 will be much the same. \u00a0Stores targeting the lower income group were impacted by low demand, caused by unemployment and debt. \u00a0Woolworths sales growth was lower in the past six months than in the same period a year prior.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association has become an ‘association partner<\/em>‘ for World Travel Market 2015<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, to be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 15 – 17 April. \u00a0The Travel Association has also announced that its annual global convention will be held in Cape Town next year, never having previously been held in Africa.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Taxify is an international Taxi App<\/strong><\/span><\/a> which allows one to connect directly with the licensed taxis closest by, and is to be launched in Cape Town and Johannesburg shortly. \u00a0It already operates in\u00a0the USA, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. \u00a0The company has signed up 250 taxis in the two cities to date, and i targeting to double that number by end March.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Delheim is celebrating its harvest this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday the Start of Harvest Celebration invites wine fans to join them in stomping grapes, with a competition, and enjoy a picnic. \u00a0 They will be offered a glass of fermenting grape juice, and mosbolletjies to toast the new vintage. A Harvest Table will be set up. \u00a0Only 120 tickets will be sold for each of the two days, cost is R285. \u00a0(received via media release from Random Hat Communications).<\/p>\n
