\"Camps<\/a>A recent survey conducted amongst 2000 South African respondents found that price drives the choice of holiday accommodation for the majority of travelers, at 69%. \u00a0However, just over half of the respondents went on holiday last year, and just over one fifth did not travel at all, reflecting the impact of the tough economic conditions.<\/p>\n

Conducted by TravelGround.com<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, the study also found that frequent travelers are less influenced by price, and are influenced more by accommodation availability. \u00a0They pay for their bookings with credit cards, cash, or holiday points. They require wifi, and check review sites, as well as photographs.<\/p>\n

Families tend to drive to their holiday destinations, while single travelers tend to fly. \u00a0 Men are more likely to fund their holiday with a credit card. \u00a0Women travelers budget for their holidays.<\/p>\n

To finance a dream holiday, locals are willing to give up fashion shopping, eating out, and buying Christmas gifts. \u00a0Men are less likely to give up restaurant meals, while women don’t want to give up Christmas presents, cigarettes, and alcohol.<\/p>\n

Despite the tough economy, TravelGround.com found that it experienced record bookings last year. \u00a0Almost two-thirds of respondents want to put money aside every month to finance a special holiday.<\/p>\n
