* \u00a0 Edelweiss Air will offer two return flights per week between Cape Town and Z\u00fcrich during the Cape’s next summer season, in new-look interior aircraft<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. \u00a0New seat configurations and an in-flight entertainment system with touch screens will be available.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Cape Town has the potential to become a tourism link to Antarctica<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, an opportunity which is not being utilised at all by our tourism authorities, shows research conducted at the University of Western Cape. The 6 hour flight from Cape Town has few seats reserved for tourists, the bulk of the 35000 tourists per year arriving by ship from Argentina. \u00a0Tourism facilities are minimal on the island, and the flights are expensive, not favouring the development of tourism currently. \u00a0 Cruise tourism to Antarctica via Cape Town could also be encouraged.<\/div>\n

* \u00a0 Air New Zealand is one of the first airlines to capitalise on the new Apple Watch<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, launched yesterday, by offering an App for its airline on the watch, which provides flight information, boarding calls, electronic boarding passes, and more.<\/div>\n

* \u00a0 L’Avenir is the first wine estate to open a wine lounge dedicated to the proudly South African varietal Pinotage. \u00a0The Pinotage Lounge is located inside the L’Avenir cellar, and tastings are hosted by its winemaker Dirk Coetzee. \u00a0The venue can also be booked for functions. \u00a0 Pinotage was first launched in the ‘Forties as a unique South African varietal created from Pinot Noir and Hermitage.
