* \u00a0 British travelers can experience a virtual taste of Cape Town<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and other South African highlights whilst in Manchester(NoHo)\u00a0and in London (Corbet Place), with a special film about our city on the virtual reality headset Oculus Rift. \u00a0Abseiling down Table Mountain, shark-cage diving, paragliding, kite-surfing, feeding elephants, and visiting the Johannesburg Neighbourgoods Market are featured. Two viewers will win tickets to travel to South Africa, to experience our country’s beauty in reality.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 For the first time Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom has admitted that the Immigration Regulations, which were implemented in part in June last year, have affected tourism arrivals<\/strong><\/span><\/a>! \u00a0He said yesterday: ‘We cannot sweep under the carpet the fact that our current visa regulations are widely seen as a significant obstacle to increasing travel to our country’<\/em>. \u00a0He added that his Department is attempting to quantify the effect of the regulations on Tourism, and hoped that a meeting would soon be called to discuss the two most pertinent elements of the new Regulations, being the unabridged birth certificates, and applying for visas in person. \u00a0The Minister expressed his support of the Department of Home Affairs in combating child trafficking.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0\u00a0 Air China’s flights between Johannesburg and Beijing will commence in August<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, having previously announced to be scheduled from May onwards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

* \u00a0 The first SAA flight from Johannesburg landed in Abu Dhab<\/a>i<\/strong><\/span> over the weekend via a new codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways. \u00a0 The airport forms a hub for passengers from Africa to the Gulf region, Europe, Asia, Australia, and India, with daily flights between the two airports.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 The new Nederburg Heritage Heroes range has been listed at Chef Marco Pierre White’s newest restaurant Wheelers Rib Room and Oyster Bar in London. \u00a0Last year he did a celebrity chef appearance on MasterChef SA Season 3. \u00a0Roger Jones’ The Harrow at Little Bedwyn also offers some of the wines in this range.
