* \u00a0 SAA Acting CEO Nico Bezuidenhout has announced that one of its subsidiaries may be sold, and a stake in SAA could be sold too<\/strong><\/span>.<\/a> \u00a0Subsidiary Mango may be listed. \u00a0Losses have been reduced from R7 million per day last year to R5 million per day two months ago.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Spur has been named as our country’s leading restaurant brand,<\/strong><\/span><\/a> out of 45 evaluated (the list is not supplied, but appears to consist of franchise brands), followed by McDonalds, Ocean Basket, Mugg & Bean, and Wimpy. The study was conducted in November last year, amongst customers earning R5000 per month or more. Restaurants were evaluated on 17 factors, including service, product, value for money, brand image, and enjoyment. Spur’s strengths were its child friendliness, enjoyability, and decor. \u00a0Most common complaint across all restaurants surveyed were staff-related, including hygiene, rudeness, and talking too loudly.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Scotch whisky expert Pierre Meintjies will be sharing stories about Bunnahabhain, Scottish Leader, and Black Bottle whiskies at the Whisky Live Showroom events to be held in Durban (April), Pretoria (May), and Cape Town (June). * \u00a0 The well-known statue of the dog Just Nuisance in Simon’s Town will turn into celluloid, with a film about the suburb’s most famous dog to be produced. The role of Just Nuisance will be played by Argo the Great Dane, reports the Sunday Times<\/strong>. \u00a0In 1939 Just Nuisance was enlisted in the Royal Navy in Simon’s Town, having become a friend of sailors. Filming in Simon’s Town starts in August and the film will be named after the dog hero. It will be released in December next year. \u00a0A part of the film’s proceeds will go to the Simon’s Town Museum.<\/p>\n
