* \u00a0 Four Gold Awards went to South African wines<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(out of 16 entered) at the Councours Mondial du Sauvignon Blanc last week: \u00a0Delaire Graff Estate Coastal Cuv\u00e9e 2014,\u00a0Diemersdal 8 Rows 2014,\u00a0Maastricht 2014, and\u00a0Steenberg The Black Swan 2013.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Kleine Zalze is continuing its winning streak, having jointly been named New World Producer of the Year with Atamisque, by the UK on-trade Sommelier Wine Awards. \u00a0It was praised for its Chenin Blancs, as well as Syrah and Pinotage. * \u00a0 The Western Cape Government, with co-sponsor Shoprite, has launched the 2015 Western Cape Farm Worker of the Year Competition, with prizes to the total value of R2,4 million, and a main prize of R100000. Minister of Economic Opportunities Alan Winde said about the competition: ‘This initiative celebrates excellence in the agricultural sector.
