Exciting news for Franschhoek is the ownership change today of Le Quartier Fran\u00e7ais by the Leeu Collection! \u00a0Today’s date of 1 September appears a number of times below! \u00a0We update information about newly opened and closed restaurants continuously.<\/p>\n

Restaurant Openings<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

* \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vicky Cristina\u2019s tapas bar y restaurante espanol<\/a><\/strong> has opened in Camps Bay (photograph).<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 De Warenmarkt<\/strong><\/a> has opened in Stellenbosch, a mix of market, deli, bar,\u00a0and pop-up restaurant\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Open Door<\/strong><\/a> has opened at\u00a0Constantia Uitsig, the third restaurant to be opened by\u00a0Neil Grant and his business partner Barry Engelbrecht (of Burrata<\/strong><\/a> and Bocca<\/strong><\/a>), previously the\u00a0River Caf\u00e9.<\/strong><\/p>\n

* \u00a0\u00a0Michael Townsend of the Harbour House Group is planning to open two new restaurants on the Muizenberg beachfront: a 160-seater Live Bait<\/strong>, and Howlin\u2019 Wolf,<\/strong> a burger and beer quick service restaurant.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0\u00a0Baked in the Wood<\/strong>\u00a0is to open on Bree Street, offering craft beer and tapas, owned by Zahir Mohamed of Baked Bistro<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Chef Cheyne Morrisby is to open Lucky Boa and Asian Shake Bar<\/strong> in Hout Bay.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Chef PJ Vadas is to open The<\/strong>\u00a0Hog House on The Werf<\/strong><\/a> craft Bakery and Caf\u00e9 at Spier<\/strong> in October.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Chef Luke Dale-Roberts is to open Naturalis<\/strong>, an \u2018incubation hub\u2019<\/em> and venue for occasional dinners and events.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Hudsons<\/strong>\u00a0has opened a burger restaurant in Stellenbosch.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Reverie Social Table<\/strong> opens in Observatory in October.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Chateaubriand<\/strong> is opening in Franschhoek in September.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0\u00a0Lebanese restaurant Ranoush<\/strong>\u00a0is to open in the V&A Waterfront<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 95@Morgenster<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/a>100-seater restaurant by Chef Giorgio Nava has opened in Somerset West<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 David Higgs<\/strong> is leaving five hundred at The Saxon to open his own 250-seater restaurant<\/strong> in Rosebank in Johannesburg in January, with an as yet undisclosed name. His\u00a0 business partner in the venture is\u00a0architect Gary\u00a0Kyriakou. Candice\u00a0Philip will take over from David at five hundred in November.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 A new Kauai concept store<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0has opened on Kloof Street.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Sundoo<\/b> Indian tapas bar is to open in Sea Point.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Tiger’s Milk<\/strong> is to open in the SanClare Building in Claremont.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Easy Tiger<\/strong> (fast food casual burger outlet) is opening on Bree Street (former Lucky Fish) mid-October, in Kalk Bay in mid-November, in Sea Point (former Lucky Fish) in mid-November, and in Muizenberg in mid-December, all owned by Michael Townsend.<\/p>\n

*Mon Desir<\/b> is opening in Hermanus.<\/p>\n
