* \u00a0 Our economy is struggling, business confidence having fallen to its lowest level in 16 years.<\/a><\/strong><\/span> The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Confidence Index fell from 88 in July to 84 in August! This scenario may cost the country’s workers 60000 jobs.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Given that the 2022 Commonwealth Games will be held in Durban, a number of tourism developments will move forward,<\/a><\/strong><\/span> says the Head of Durban Tourism Philip Sithole. These include new hotel developments, a new cruise liner terminal, and new international direct flights.<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 SAA has contracted a German catering company<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for its OR Thambo\u00a0airport lounge for\u00a0R85 million, despite having contracted its own subsidiary Air Chefs to do the catering for its flights and lounges at all domestic airports, and despite a policy of using local contractors!<\/p>\n

* \u00a0 Grande Provence is offering another Wine and Dine Collaboration Dinner<\/a><\/strong><\/span> on 25 September, focusing on White Blends. \u00a0The six-course dinner by Chef Darren Badenhorst will be paired with wines from Tokara, Strandveld, De Morgenzon, and Grande Provence. *. \u00a0Nederburg is strengthening the culinary profile of its Heritage Heroes range, after linking the brand to the Eat Out<\/strong> Rising Star Award since 2014. Over a five-week period Eat Out<\/strong> will develop recipes to pair with each of the five wines in the range. The brand has also collaborated with five hundred Chef David Higgs, who cooked for the South African team competing in the Tour de France; Chef Pete Goffe-Wood; Hemelhuijs Chef Jacques Erasmus; and Chef Wesley Randles of The Pot Luck Club.
