This year <strong>Eat Out<\/strong> has <!--more-->chosen two chefs who are not even on the Top 20 list, while the other three chefs are strong contenders for the Top 10 Award.<\/p>\n<p>The participating chefs preparing the Gala Lunch are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jason Lilley of Jason Bakery is baking the bread<\/li>\n<li>Scot Kirton of La Colombe will prepare the starter<\/li>\n<li>Nic van Wyk of Bistro 13 will prepare the second starter<\/li>\n<li>Michael Broughton of Terroir will prepare the main course<\/li>\n<li>George Jardine of Jordan&#8217;s Restaurant will prepare the dessert.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Interesting is the paragraph in <strong>Eat Out<\/strong>&#8216;s announcement: &#8216;<em>The Chef&#8217;s will be collaborating with Byron de Carvalho of Foodsters to ensure a knockout meal for all guests&#8217;<\/em>! Last year the Gala Dinner meal, at a cost of R1800, was a disaster. De Carvalho is a trained chef who has cooked on yachts, in top local kitchens, and started Shesha Film Food. The Foodster Group, a collaboration with ex-Taj marketing executive Theo Cromhout, does not appear to have its own website, so does not explain how it differs from the Shesha Film Food company. Both companies have a Facebook page, but this does not clarify the role of each. \u00a0The food photographs on De Carvalho&#8217;s own website look superb. De Carvalho is an unknown entity in the Cape Town food scene!<\/p>\n<p>Tickets to <strong>Eat Out<\/strong>&#8216;s Top 10 Restaurant Awards Gala Lunch cost R1495.
