\"BMueum<\/a>The British Museum of Food opens in London tomorrow, being the ‘world’s first cultural institution entirely devoted to the history, evolution, science, sociology and art of food<\/em>‘.<\/p>\n

Created by Bompas and Parr, the Museum will be located in the Borough Market, ‘London’s famous foodie centre’. It’s 2500 square foot space will be ‘a provocation: the start of a debate<\/em>‘. It is planned that the museum will ‘fundamentally change people’s lives by helping you consider what they eat, where it\u00a0comes from, how it gets to your table, …and what happens when it’s inside your body<\/em>‘.<\/p>\n

The two-storey Museum covers the journey of food, with a digital representation of food going through the alimentary canal into the stomach; one can join a Choco-Phonica experience, in which 10000 visitors will be given free chocolate, and ‘transported to a new chocolately world via the power of sound<\/em>‘; the role of butterflies in pollination is showcased; the ‘Atelier of Flavour’<\/em> will alter one’s perspective on food; and generally offer visitors ‘food focused fun’!<\/em><\/p>\n

New York sees the opening of a similar Museum of Food and Drink next week.<\/p>\n
