Obviously the benefit of the weak Rand relative to the pound sterling (R22) in terms of good value drives the article, but 24 other reasons are provided too:<\/p>\n

  1. The exchange rate, having made South Africa cheaper by half since 2010! But we are in competition with Brazil, Russia, Turkey, Malaysia, Norway, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, and Hungary, all of which have seen weaker currencies relative to pound sterling.<\/li>\n

  7. The Sardine Run, an annual migration along the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal coasts<\/li>\n
  8. Close to nature, even in Cape Town<\/li>\n
  9. The Blue Train, one of the ‘best luxury train trips in the world’<\/em><\/li>\n
  10. A budget train alternative, the Shosholoza<\/li>\n
  11. The wine, in Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek, and Wellington.<\/li>\n
  12. The landscapes, such as The Valley of Desolation and Bourke’s Luck.<\/li>\n
  13. Staying in the late Nelson Mandela’s house at Shambala Private Game Reserve<\/li>\n
  14. Stay in a tree house in the Lion Sands Game Reserve in the\u00a0Kruger\u00a0Park<\/li>\n

  23. Eight World Heritage Sites, of which the Cape Floristic region, Robben Island, and The Richtersveld are in the Western Cape.<\/li>\n
  24. The world’s fastest ‘zip slide<\/em>‘, at Sun City.<\/li>\n
  25. The largest cave system, the Cango Caves.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Eleven items on the list specifically relate to Cape Town and the Western Cape, the province with the most attractions on the list.<\/p>\n
