\"image\"<\/a>The Sweet Service Award<\/strong> goes to Kfm<\/strong>, for its Christmas Wish project to share goodwill with Capetonians going through difficult times. Last week I heard goodwill bestowed upon Madeleze Gibson, whose husband David passed away in a car accident while driving to a store to buy nappies for their child. Madeleze was left with three children and a baby on the way shortly. On Rob Vember’s afternoon show both Madeleze and her sister-in-law Desraye, who had nominated Madeleze, spoke\u00a0and cried when DJ Rob shared that Pick ‘n Pay was making available R20000 Smart Shopper points, a supply of nappies, clothing for all the children and for Madeleze, as well as a beauty makeover for Madeleze at its newest store. Spur offered a R3000 restaurant voucher, and ABSA promised a staff collection for the family, the bank matching what its staff collected, guaranteeing a minimum of R50000, to be invested and used to pay the school fees for the children. I had goosebumps whilst driving and listening to this.<\/p>\n

\"City<\/a>The Sour Service Award<\/strong> goes to the City of Cape Town Atlantic Seaboard Councillor Jacques Weber, who must be the most ego-driven Councillor in our city. On 1 December he organised a bragging ‘Show of Force<\/em>‘ parade of more than 100 persons and 30 vehicles of the City’s\u00a0Safety and Security Directorate, Western Cape Emergency Medical Service, Sea Point CID, Green Point CID, South African Police Service, fire services, traffic services, and NSRI through Sea Point and Camps Bay, bringing all local traffic to a standstill. The Councillor told the Atlantic Sun<\/strong> that the parade ‘highlighted the ward’s readiness for the festive season and warned criminals that they will be caught’<\/em>! \u00a0The irony is that the Councillor will not be in action over the next four weeks, having announced that he is on leave, and will not be available to Atlantic Seaboard residents via Twitter or Facebook! The Councillor has previously received a Sour Service Award<\/strong><\/span><\/a> for his lack of interest in a two-month street lighting problem experienced in a section of Fresnaye.<\/p>\n
