\"image\"<\/a>The Sweet Service Award<\/strong> goes to Good Food & Co in Franschhoek, and to co-owner Emmerentia Klaasen in particular, who took the trouble to sit down at my table when I had breakfast there, and requested my feedback about their restaurant. Her sister Joey was kind enough to not charge for four mini-muffins which are served with the coffee, when I wanted to buy them to take home.<\/p>\n

\"image\"<\/a>The Sour Service Award<\/strong> goes to Le Petit Bijou ‘Boutique’ (sic) Apartments in Franschhoek, and its owner Christoff Delport, for his rudeness in our check-out. \u00a0At no stage prior to or on arrival had he issued an invoice for our stay, but demanded payment as we were about to leave with no paperwork issued. He became abusive, locked us in the garage so that we could not drive out until we had paid, treating us like criminals! \u00a0The property is under construction, and smells of cement work. \u00a0On the first day the other apartments were serviced, with pails of cleaning materials left in the way to the apartments, potentially tripping customers. \u00a0Bedding was washed and hung on the pool chairs on the way into the apartment we had rented, demonstrating the unprofessionalism of this operation! \u00a0A pelmet was standing in one bedroom, waiting to be installed. One bedroom door would not close, and the door had to be locked from inside to keep it closed! The housekeepers did not clean the apartment in the morning, and muttered and moaned rudely when they had to wait to do so until 15h00, when we left for a wedding! The ‘Boutique’ in the name of the apartments is an absolute misnomer, being under construction!<\/p>\n
