At the SA Olive Oil Awards held outside Paarl earlier this week, 36 extra virgin olive oils received Gold Awards, while 53 Silver and 11 Bronze medals were awarded.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A total of 110 entries was received for the SA Olive Oil Awards, which have been held for the past eleven years, and was evaluated by a panel of international and local judges.<\/p>\n

In the Delicate Extra Virgin Olive Oil category, Gold medals were awarded to\u00a0De Rustica Estate Delicate, Greenleaf, Mont Rouge Owner\u2019s Reserve, River Press, Spar Authentic, and Tokara Frantoio.<\/p>\n

A large number of Medium Extra Virgin Olive Oils received Gold medals:\u00a0Adamskloof, Andante, Cederberg Olives Frantoio, Chaloner Mountain Oil, De Rustica Estate Medium, Gabri\u00eblskloof, Galenia Estate Director\u2019s Blend, Galenia Estate\u00a0Blend, Kleinbergskloof Estate Blend, Kloovenburg, Kredouw Frantoio, Lettas Kraal Green Olive Blend, Lettas Kraal, Marbrin Olive Growers Medium, Mont Rouge Karoo Reserve, Rio Largo, Rio Largo Gold, Wildekrans Field Blend Selection, Waterleliefontein, and Wildekrans Endless.<\/p>\n

In the Intense Extra Virgin Olive Oil category Gold awards went to: Andante Forte, Andante Intenso, Anysbos, De Rustica Estate Intense, Kransfontein Coratina, Marbrin Olive Growers Intense, Marbrin Olive Growers Directors Reserve, Prince Albert Olives Karoo Blend Intense, Rio Largo Premium Blend, and Willow Creek Director\u2019s Reserve.<\/p>\n

Top medal winners were the following olive oil producers: De Rustica, Marbrin Farm, Porterville Olives, Rio Largo Olive Estate, and The Greenleaf Olive Co won three Gold medals each. Galenia Estate, Lettas Kraal, Mont Rouge, and Wildekrans won two Gold medals each.<\/p>\n
