\"perfect-stranger-lions-head\"It was in the UK in July that I saw the music video for ‘Perfect Strangers’<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/a> by record producer Jonas Blue for the first time, and I could not believe that all of it was filmed in Cape Town, doing an amazing tourism marketing job for our city, as the song edges closer to the top of international music charts!<\/p>\n

Jonas Blue is a British music producer, and achieved his first \"image\"fame with the Joan Armatrading song ‘Fast Car<\/em>‘ earlier this year.<\/p>\n

‘Perfect Strangers<\/em>‘ was released in June this year, and the music video has already been seen by more than 1oo million YouTube viewers! The song was written by Alex Smith, John Paul Cooper, and Guy James Robin (the real name of Jonas Blue), and is sung by JP Cooper. The song is a blend of tropical house and pop vocals, and has reached number two on the UK singles chart, and top ten in many countries, including South Africa.<\/p>\n

The music video was directed by Sashinski, with Robot South Africa as the service company. It starts with a plane arriving in Cape Town, and soon two strangers (played by ‘exotic girl’<\/em> Victoria Scholtz and ‘handsome backpacker<\/em>‘ Devin Dollery) visit Cape Town’s tourist highlights, bumping into each other coincidentally at Greenmarket Square, traveling in a train, on top of Table Mountain, and in the Two Oceans Aquarium. They connect and he dives at the \"perfect-strangers-beach\"Sea Point swimming pool, they walk the ‘Boomslang’ at Kirstenbosch, they walk in Bo-Kaap, they walk to the top of Lion’s Head, the man teaching skateboarding in a township, she interacting with dancing girls and teaching them breakdancing, and finally they connect at sunset on a Cape Town beach!<\/p>\n

‘Perfect Strangers<\/em>‘ encourages one to not take life so seriously<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, and to enjoy a coincidental connection, if it was meant to be. UMusic<\/strong> writes that the music video has ‘… real sense of love, life and laughter – depicting the perfect visual in addition to Jonas Blue’s feel good music’.<\/em><\/p>\n

London Groove<\/strong> wrote a month ago: ‘People are still loving this single, with the video generating over 60 m views <\/em>(now 101 million views) on YouTube thanks to being set in South Africa’s Cape Town. The scenery including breath-taking mountains, and beaches, makes you want to book a vacation as soon as possible so it’s no wonder the single is still in the top ten with sales up to Gold status<\/em>‘.<\/p>\n

The music video for ‘Perfect Strangers’<\/em> is the best form of free marketing for Cape Town since the 2010 World Cup!<\/p>\n
