#   La Parada Del Mar<\/strong><\/span> has opened in Camps Bay: http:\/\/www.whalecottage.com\/blog\/cape-town\/restaurant-review-la-parada-del-mar-sizzles-in-camps-bay\/<\/p>\n

#    The 41 has opened<\/strong><\/span><\/a> in Camps Bay <\/p>\n

#    A new bar, light eatery, and dance club The Station on Bree<\/strong><\/a> has opened <\/p>\n

#    Chef Jan-Hendrik van der Westhuizen of one Michelin star JAN restaurant in Nice could open a restaurant in Cape Town!<\/a>  <\/strong>Chef Jan-Hendrik\u2019s hosts occasional dinners at his Higgovale home.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

#   Naturalis <\/strong>by Luke Dale-Roberts has not made it as an eatery nor wine bar, and now is a decor shop owned by Sandalene Dale-Roberts<\/p>\n

#   Tiger\u2019s Milk<\/strong> has opened in the SanClare Building in Claremont, in Century City, in Bryanston, and in Stellenbosch.<\/p>\n

#   Harbour House<\/strong> is to open in Johannesburg<\/p>\n

#   Hard Rock Caf\u00e9<\/strong> is said to open in the V&A Waterfront.<\/p>\n

#   Marigold Indian restaurant<\/a><\/strong> has opened in Franschhoek.<\/p>\n

#   Jamie\u2019s Italian<\/strong> is to open in Cape Town.<\/p>\n

#   Dunkin\u2019 Donuts<\/strong> will open 250 outlets in our country, the first outlet having opened at N1 City in Cape Town.<\/p>\n

#   An interesting rumour is that Chefs Liam Tomlin and Ivor Jones are to jointly open a restaurant at The Silo hotel development<\/strong> in the V&A Waterfront. The Silo hotel is due to open in March, and will have the Rooftop Restaurant, Rooftop Champagne Bar, and The Silo Caf\u00e9 as its offering. Chef Liam is consulting to The Silo.<\/p>\n

#   La Colombe Executive Chef Scot Kirton and Pastry Chef Glen Williams have opened an additional, more informal, restaurant Foxcroft<\/strong>, at High Constantia.<\/p>\n

#   Shego<\/strong> Turkish restaurant has opened in Cape Royale Luxury Hotel in Green Point.<\/p>\n

#   Papa San, previously of Takumi, has opened his own restaurant Obi<\/strong> with Ben Bettendorf, on Long Street.<\/p>\n

#   Cheyne\u2019s<\/strong> is opening a cocktail sake bar, to be called Fire Monkey<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Ivor Jones has teamed up with Chef Liam Tomlin, and has opened a second Chef\u2019s Warehouse, at Beau Constantia<\/strong> wine estate.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Cheyne Morrisby has opened a Ramen and Japanese Grill House called SHIO<\/strong> in Green Point.<\/p>\n

#   I Love Coffee<\/strong>, the first deaf-run coffee shop in SA, has opened inside the X-Body Fitness Gym in Claremont<\/p>\n

#   The Grand Caf\u00e9 and Beach<\/strong><\/span><\/a> has re-opened.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Garth Almazan, previously of Catharina\u2019s at Steenberg, is opening a restaurant in Paternoster.<\/strong><\/p>\n

#   Jarryd\u2019s<\/b> is opening a second branch, on Hout Street. It has also opened a bakery section, called Bentleys Bakery Co.<\/p>\n

#   Tre<\/strong> Steampunk<\/b> Club Restaurant and Bar<\/strong> has opened on Buitengracht Street.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Bertus Basson has opened new restaurant Spek & Bone<\/strong> off Dorp Street in Stellenbosch.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Bertus Basson is the new Chef Patron of the Bertus Basson @<\/strong> Ritz Hotel <\/strong><\/a>Revolving Restaurant in Sea Point.<\/strong><\/p>\n

#   House of H<\/strong> has opened.<\/p>\n

#   Villains Pub and Ale House<\/strong> has opened.<\/p>\n

#   Baconville<\/strong> has opened in Willowbridge, a second restaurant by Richard Bosman.<\/p>\n

#   Terra Madre<\/strong> has opened in Elgin, for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays from 10h00 \u2013 16hoo, owned by Nicole Precoudis.<\/p>\n

#   Mangata<\/strong> has opened in Simon\u2019s Town.<\/p>\n

#   Tea in the Park<\/strong> has opened in the Green Point Urban Park.<\/p>\n

#   Cabana<\/strong> will open in The Ritz<\/p>\n

#   Black & Co<\/strong> will open in Constantia as a coffee and gift shop in January.<\/p>\n

#   Pikant<\/strong> has opened at Uitkyk as a pop-up restaurant, operating until 29 January.<\/p>\n

#   Chefs has opened in Gardens<\/strong><\/a>, with Chef Jenny Ward in the kitchen.<\/p>\n

#   The Vine Bistro<\/strong> at Glenelly<\/strong> has opened, with Chef Christophe Dehosse.<\/p>\n

#   ELL Vegan Cafe<\/strong> has opened in Hermanus.<\/p>\n

#   Bon App\u00e9tit Keam Restaurant<\/strong> has opened in Grabouw.<\/p>\n

#   Solo Restaurant<\/strong> has opened on Loop Street.<\/p>\n

#   Pizza Hut<\/strong> has opened on Kloof Street<\/p>\n

#.  De Villiers Chocolate Caf\u00eb<\/strong> has opened in Franschhoek.<\/p>\n

#   El Burro<\/strong> has opened in Newlands<\/p>\n

#   Baked on Long<\/strong> has opened <\/p>\n

#   The Stepbrother<\/strong> has opened in De Waterkant.<\/p>\n

#   The Classic Car Bar<\/strong> has opened in the V&A Waterfront.<\/p>\n

#   La Colombe <\/b>will open a new as yet unnamed restaurant in Le Quartier Fran\u00e7ais in August.<\/p>\n

Restaurant Closures<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

#   Borage Bistro has closed down at its Bree Street premises<\/a><\/strong>, to relocate to new premises.<\/p>\n

#   Palma<\/strong> has closed on Bree Street.<\/p>\n

#   Caf\u00e9 Dijon<\/strong> in De Waterkant has closed down<\/p>\n

#   Ravish<\/strong> on Bree Street has closed down.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Conrad Gallagher has been evicted from the Caf\u00e9<\/b> Chic<\/b> premises and has left Cape Town!  He opened a restaurant Gallagher\u2019s on Stanley<\/strong> in Port Elizabeth, despite not having paid suppliers in Cape Town, and has just been evicted from these premises!<\/p>\n

#   Hudsons<\/strong> in Claremont is closing down.<\/p>\n

#   Bootlegger<\/strong> in Bantry Bay has closed down.<\/p>\n

#   Searle’s<\/b> in Greyton has stopped operating, and will only do catering for events. <\/p>\n

#   Showroom<\/b> in Stellenbosch has closed down.<\/p>\n

Restaurant changes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

#   Reuben\u2019s Franschhoek<\/strong> <\/a>will move to new premises, and its past space has become a Woolworths. It has closed for renovations<\/a><\/strong>, and reopens at its new location at 2 Daniel Hugo Street in March. It will operate as a pop-up restaurant at the Riffel-owned Racine at Chamonix.<\/p>\n

#   <\/strong>OYO at V&A Hotel has re-opened after a complete renovation, and is now called Ginja.<\/strong><\/p>\n

#   Chef Johann Breedt has bought Viva Caf\u00ea<\/strong> <\/b>in Green Point, which is to be renamed Bernie\u2019s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

#   Tiger\u2019s Milk Smokehouse<\/strong> is opening where Emily\u2019s used to be on Kloof Street.<\/p>\n

#   The Long Table Restaurant and Caf\u00e9<\/strong> at Haskell Vineyards closed in March, and will re-open after an extensive renovation, upgrade, and general maintenance, to be run by the winery itself when it re-opens.<\/p>\n

#   La Cuccina<\/strong> is to open an outlet in the former Andiamo in the \u2018old\u2019 Cape Quarter.<\/p>\n

#   Kan10<\/strong> has opened in De Warenmarkt, offering lunches, \u2018grab-and-go<\/em>\u2019, and dinners, with Chefs Nic van Wyk and Westley Muller.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Liam Tomlin’s Indian tapas bar Thali, <\/strong>headed up by Chef John van Zyl, has opened. The project partner is Dimo Papa Christodoulou of Fat Cactus and Long Street Cafe. They will not take reservations.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Eric Bulpitt and his team have left The Restaurant at Newton Johnson, and have opened Faber<\/strong> at Avondale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Bertus Basson is renovating Overture<\/strong> in winter 2017.<\/p>\n

#   The Fat Butcher<\/strong> has opened in Stellenbosch.<\/p>\n

#   The Mess<\/strong> has opened in The Rockwell, previously Caf\u00e9 Dijon<\/p>\n

#   Adam Whitehead of The Power & Glory has taken over the Rafiki space to create a new eatery.<\/p>\n

#   Birds Caf\u00e9 on Bree Street has undergone a transformation, and has reopened as Mink & Trout<\/strong><\/p>\n

#   Five Rooms at the Alphen Hotel has been transformed into a contemporary art gallery restaurant called blanko<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Kobus Van Der Merwe has moved out of his Oep ve Koep venue in Paternoster, and reopened at Wolfgat.<\/strong><\/p>\n

#   Orinoco<\/strong> has closed at its current premises on Bree Street, and reopens next year at an as yet unidentified location.<\/p>\n

#   Original Deli in Hermanus has changed its name to Soul Cafe Hermanus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

#   A seafood restaurant<\/strong> is to open on Bree Street, where Palma used to operate.<\/p>\n

#   La T\u00eate<\/strong> Restaurant<\/strong> has opened where Orinoco operated on Bree Street, with Chef Giles Edwards.<\/p>\n

#   Chefs Nik van Wyk and Westley Muller have taken over the restaurant at Haute Cabriere<\/strong><\/a>, retaining the name of the restaurant.<\/p>\n

#   Origins at The Marine<\/strong> has taken over the Seafood Pavilion space at The Marine Hotel in Hermanus.<\/p>\n

#   Le Grand<\/strong> has opened where the Hildebrandt used to operate in the Waterfront. <\/p>\n

#   The former Alba Lounge in the Waterfront has re-opened as a Portugueses restaurant MoreSol<\/b><\/p>\n

#   Ile de Pain<\/strong> has reopened in Knysna, after a devastating fire in 2015.<\/p>\n

#   Hail Pizza<\/b> has opened in the courtyard at Clarke’s on Bree Street.<\/p>\n

#   Primal Eatery<\/b> is opening where Charcoal Dining used to be on New Church Street.<\/p>\n

#   Reuben’s<\/b> Robertson is no longer operating at The Robertson Small Hotel. The hotel is now running its own restaurant. <\/p>\n

#  Bootlegger<\/b> has opened in Bakoven where Baked Bistro used to operate. <\/p>\n

Chef and Restaurant staff changes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

#   Chef Angelo Scirocco<\/strong> has left Urbanologi in Johannesburg as its Head Chef. He is said to be opening his own restaurant in Pretoria. <\/p>\n

#   Chef Duncan Doherty<\/strong> is consulting to the restaurant at the Century City Hotel.<\/p>\n

#   Manager Julian Smith<\/strong> has left Maison, for Cavalli. Alice Mfundisi<\/strong> is the new Maison Manager.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Maritz Jacobs<\/strong> has left Boschendal and moved to Longridge.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Adele Grewar<\/strong> has left Overture, but is said to be returning to Bertus Basson at Spice Route. Chef Alistaire Lawrence<\/strong> has left Bertus Basson at Spice Route.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Garth Johnson<\/strong> is the new executive chef at The Maslow.<\/p>\n

#   Carl Habel<\/strong> is the new Manager of Nobu at the One & Only Cape Town.<\/p>\n

#   Ben Kirsten<\/strong> is the new Restaurant Manager at Tokara.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Jochen Heathcote<\/strong> is now the Head Chef at The Restaurant at Villa 47, formerly at Myoga and Open Door.<\/p>\n

#   Chef John van Zyl<\/strong> has left Urbanologi, to return to Liam Tomlin as Head Chef of his new Indian restaurant Thali<\/p>\n

#   Chef Nick Oosthuizen<\/strong> from Swellendam iphas taken over the running of The Restaurant at Newton Johnson.<\/p>\n

#   Isabella Immenkamp<\/strong> has left Hoghouse at Spier, and is at the Vine Bistro at Glenelly now.  Andre van der Merwe<\/strong> has taken over as Manager at HogHouse.<\/p>\n

#   Martell Smit<\/strong> has left Leeu Estates, and is a Manager at Melissa\u2019s.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Dennis Strydom<\/strong> has left Haute Cabriere.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Germaine Esau<\/strong> has joined Dash at the Queen Victoria Hotel in the Waterfront<\/p>\n

#   Ian Smith will be the GM of the new Melissa\u2019s owned Mantra Caf\u00e9<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, which opens in Camps Bay on 13 December.<\/p>\n

#   Oskar Kotze<\/strong> has sold Sevruga, and his restaurants in Johanneburg, Pretoria, and Durban. He retains Beluga in Cape Town.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Dean Correia<\/strong> has left Bliss Hotel<\/p>\n

#   Gareth Flynn<\/strong> is the new Pastry Chef at Pierneef \u00e0 La Motte.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Veronica Canha-Hibbert<\/strong> is the new Executive Chef at the Silo Hotel.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Sheldon Raju<\/b> is no longer with Chefs Warehouse nor is he involved with Chef Liam’s new Indian restaurant Thali.<\/p>\n

#   Chef Chris Papayannes<\/b> is the new Group Executive Chef at Devil’s Peak Brewing Company in Woodstock, and opening in Durbanville in March, and in Epping in July. The Head Chef at Chalk & Cork is Justin Zietsman. <\/p>\n

#   Chef Annemarie Robertson has left Open Door and is freelancing in Johannesburg. The new Executive Chef is Evan Coosner.<\/b>  <\/p>\n

#   Chef Guy Clark<\/b> has been appointed as the Executive Chef at Tintswalo Atlantic. <\/p>\n
