I had my card stopped on 31 December, and was promised a replacement card (with my Platinum credit card) within 7 – 10 working days. I requested that both cards be delivered to the Sea Point branch of ABSA. I received a text message to inform me that the credit card had arrived at the Sea Point branch, and I collected it, with the headache that I had no ID documents, as they were also stolen. The bank could therefore not identify me, despite my regular interaction with the branch, and a substantial investment with the bank! An identification was finally possible via my business account which is with another branch. A bigger headache was getting the Garage card. Another text message informed me that it was at the Santyger branch. I called the number in the message, and requested that it be sent to the Sea Point branch, as requested. Not having heard anything for a few days, and needing the card to full my car with fuel, I called the number again. I had to speak to three persons to get through to the correct division handling stolen card collections. A 40 minute call to find my card confirmed that it had arrived in Sea Point. When I went to the branch, they had no record of the card! Enquiries Manager Gail made it her business to track my card, and promised delivery the following day, a week after receiving the credit card, and she was true to her word. <\/p>\n
The WhaleTales Sweet & Sour Service Awards are presented every Friday on the WhaleTales blog.
