I found five shops selling Easter biscuits and chocolate items, Four & Twenty Caf\u00e9 offering by far the largest selection of Easter goodies, and the best quality items too. My Sugar offers the most creative Easter eggs.<\/p>\n

Four & Twenty Caf\u00e9<\/b><\/p>\n

I traveled with my guest Bella Bauer to Four & Twenty Caf\u00e9, our first stop, on Wolfe Street which \"\"runs alongside Maynardville. Its shelves were full of delicious Easter treats alongside regular pastry items, with decorative Easter items too. The Hot Cross Buns looked delicious, and we ordered one each with our cappuccinos, served on a wooden board each, with orange butter and honey, and a logo created with castor sugar on the board. They are by far the best Hot Cross Buns which I have ever \"\"eaten in Cape Town, filled with fruit.<\/p>\n

We were super impressed with the Easter focus at Four & Twenty Caf\u00e9, not only in its Easter display on the pastry shelving, but also in sending an Easter Bunny biscuit with \"\"each cappuccino ordered.  <\/p>\n

I chatted to Four & Twenty Caf\u00e9 owner Tracey-Leigh Genricks, and she showed me the special Tapas dishes which they sell, each filled with an Easter item. I also saw chocolate cupcakes with mini Easter Eggs.<\/p>\n

Four & Twenty Caf\u00e9 is operating throughout the Easter weekend, from 8hoo – 17h00 today, 9h00 – 16h00 on Easter Sunday, and from 8h00 – 17h00 on Easter \"\"Monday. 23 Wolfe Street, Wynberg. www.fourandtwentycafe.co.za<\/p>\n

Black & Co<\/b><\/p>\n

I had met sisters Natasha and Nadia Swart late last year, preparing food for their mother Debbie Hall-Reinders weekly Wednesday lunches at her bedding business in Tamboerskloof. The sister have set up Black & Co shop inside Constantia Fabrics on Constantia Main Road, Natasha preparing the savory dishes and Nadia the sweet treats. They offer a catering service, but also a sit down offering of coffees, cakes, and super spinach and feta tarts, chicken tarts, and beef lasagne, sold in \"\"individual portions to eat there or to take home. <\/p>\n

They are selling decorative Easter bunnies, and we saw the most luscious and opulent chocolate brownies topped with mini Easter eggs. <\/p>\n

Foxcroft Bakery<\/b><\/p>\n

The Bakery at Foxcroft is not the main focus of the restaurant.  It was disappointing to see that the only Easter item available at Foxcroft was Hot Cross Bun macarons, despite it being such a creative idea, while ordinary Hot Cross Buns are for sale too. The macarons cost R15. They are also available in pink and white (sherry and vanilla tonka bean), and in green (Earl Grey tea and peach). <\/p>\n

Melissa’s Newlands<\/b><\/p>\n

I was very disappointed with the offering by Melissa’s for Easter, consisting of Easter Owls (yes!), Easter Eggs for hiding in the garden or home for the Easter Egg Hunt, and very large unattractive Hot Cross Buns!<\/p>\n

My Sugar<\/b><\/p>\n

My Sugar is less about sugar, and is very much about chocolate. It has a very creative Easter offering, starting with their Hot Cross Bun filled with milktart! They also offer small Easter eggs with colorful decoration,\"\" another variation of Easter eggs looking like fried eggs, and large chocolate Easter eggs.<\/p>\n
