Utopia Restaurant towers above all other restaurants in Cape Town, excellent elevated dining!

 

In my mind the Silo Hotel in the Waterfront was Cape Town highest restaurant and bar, although more bar on the 11th floor and restaurant on the 6th floor. A year ago that record was broken by Utopia when it opened as an Upmarket Bistro, in the Mirage building in De Waterkant, on the 15th floor, offering dining with a 360 degree view of the Mother City.

I was invited to try the 120-seater restaurant, which is a member of my Lockdown Sit-Down, Deliveries and Collection Facebook Group, for Lunch on Saturday, experiencing its Elevated Dining Restaurant and Bar.

Tourist numbers to Cape Town from the UK expected to grow vastly from October 2020!

It was a Good News week for Tourism in Cape Town last week, with the announcement that both BA and Virgin Atlantic airlines are increasing the number of flights to our city from next summer. ‘Match in Africa’ Roger Federer Foundation Charity Tennis match a huge win for Cape Town and Southern Africa!

 

Last week I wrote about the charity ‘Match in Africa’ between two tennis legends Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, in aid of the Roger Federer Foundation, played in the Cape Town Stadium on Friday evening 7 February. Will it be matchpoint for Federer in Cape Town Federer – Nadal Charity tennis match on 7 February 2020, with his SA roots?

 

Other than the 2010 World Cup, there can be no greater sport event in our city than the Charity Tennis match between two tennis icons Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, to be held at Cape Town Stadium on Friday 7 February 2020 at 20h00. The tourism and PR benefits for Cape Town are massive, enhanced by the fact that Roger Federer has never played on African soil, despite his South African roots! Trevor Noah and Bill Gates will feature on the tennis court as well, adding extra international attention to the  event. The event is expected to raise more than $1 million.  Continue reading →
