*   SAA Acting CEO Nico Bezuidenhout has announced that one of its subsidiaries may be sold, and a stake in SAA could be sold too.  Subsidiary Mango may be listed.  Losses have been reduced from R7 million per day last year to R5 million per day two months ago.

*   Spur has been named as our country’s leading restaurant brand, out of 45 evaluated (the list is not supplied, but appears to consist of franchise brands), followed by McDonalds, Ocean Basket, Mugg & Bean, and Wimpy. *   Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden has won the Garden of the Year award at the International Garden Tourism Awards 2015.  The awards are presented to those ‘who have distinguished themselves in the development and promotion of the garden experience as a tourism attraction’.  The new Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway (Boomslang), recently named as South Africa’s best design, has enhanced the attractiveness of Kirstenbosch, the gardens receiving more than 1 million visitors in 2014.

*   Exhibition space for Cape Wine 2015 is practically sold out, says Wines of South Africa (WOSA) CEO Siobhan Thompson.  The largest wine expo in the southern hemisphere, it will be held from 15 – 17 September.   A conference will run alongside the Expo, and speakers include Leeu Collection owner Analjit Singh, WOSA Chairman Michael Jordaan of Bartinney, and Western Cape Minister of Economic Opportunities Alan Winde.
