Corona Virus: Government eases some Lockdown restrictions, hint of light lifting of Lockdown from 1 May 2020!

 

Earlier today the Government announced some relaxations to the country’s Lockdown regulations, highlights being an eased regulation regarding co-parenting, emergency repairs to homes and vehicles, opening of call centres related to essential services, and the reopening of warehouses related to essential services products, it was announced by Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. She was emphatic that the selling of cigarettes,  alcohol and take-away foods remains prohibited.

Listening to an interview with a reporter of ewn, the news service of Kfm, listeners were told that a light and gradual lifting of the Lockdown regulations from 1 May 2020 was hinted at by the Minister during the media briefing today.  The Minister said: “Because we are going to be opening the lockdown in an orderly matter, we will be naming the areas which will opened (sic) from the lockdown,” said Dlamini-Zuma. “The lockdown cannot be stopped abruptly.” Continue reading →
