Dineplan Survey shows diners willing to eat out during Covid-19 Lockdown, but Deliveries and Collections remain important!

 

Dineplan, a restaurant reservation system company, conducted a survey shortly after it was announced that Restaurants were allowed to open for Sit-Down Service from 30 June onwards. The survey interviewed diners to understand their willingness to eat out during the Corona Lockdown, to understand their expectations of restaurants, not only for Sit-Down Service, but also for Food Delivery and Collection. A relief for restaurants must be that only 1% of the respondents said that they would not eat out during Lockdown. Continue reading →

Corona Virus Lockdown: StreetSmart encourages home diners to ‘Dine In. Do Good!’ to fund the support of street children!

 

StreetSmart SA, a Public Benefit Organisation which collects monies from R5 donations paid by patrons at participating restaurants, has been affected in doing its good work in caring for Street Children by the Corona Virus Lockdown, as no restaurants have been permitted to trade in the past two months.

In order to continue its good work, needed even more so during these difficult times, the organisation has launched an interim ‘Dine In. Do Good!’ campaign, encouraging home diners to donate R150 per month (R5 per day), or even more to StreetSmart SA until restaurants reopen. Continue reading →

Corona Virus: President Ramaphosa announces step-down to Level 3 from 1 June 2020, opening up of the economy, restaurant meal collection, unrestricted exercise, and sale of Alcohol!

 


In a speech starting punctually at 19h00 this evening, President Ramaphosa announced that the country as a whole will step down to Level 3 from 1 June, with concessions made for unrestricted exercise, allowing the sale of alcohol for home consumption under strict conditions, lifting of the curfew, the collection as well as delivery of Restaurant meals, and the opening up of the economy. Thursday 23 April 2020, Day 39 of SA Corona Virus, Day 28 of SA Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another day, even if a little cooler due to the cloud cover; for being able to count so many blessings, even though I feel more tearful when I hear certain songs, and I hear the lovely stories about Kfm and Lotto Star donating money to persons and families struggling to make ends meet; for being able to write, and having the discipline to sit down in the mornings, keeping my mind agile, and for stories falling into my lap; for my excellent health, especially in this time, my blood sugar being at my lowest level ever today, at 3,4, having been a Diabetes Type 2 sufferer for years, until I lost the 45 kg two years ago, and for my weight today being exactly the same as today one month ago, being able to dance/walk every day in my home during Lockdown; and for being healthy and happy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
