Restaurant Review: GOLD Restaurant not so shiny for all tourist diners!

 

Last week I was invited by German visitors to join them for dinner, and of the three options I provided, they chose Gold Restaurant in Green Point. It was my first dinner at Gold since the restaurant had moved from Strand Street, its previous home. It was a noisy evening, a part I had forgotten about and not mentioned to the visitors by me, and the food offering as well as service made me reconsider whether I would recommend it to guests, having done so once before, with good feedback then. CapeWine 2015 most successful wine trade show ever!

Cape Wine Logo (LR)CapeWine 2015 is the most successful wine exhibition ever hosted in our country, its attendance in the Cape Town International Convention Centre having grown by 27% since 2012, with 1900 visitors from 58 countries attending. Honest Chocolate at next stage of its ethical and artisanal evolution!

imageLast night I attended an interesting group discussion about chocolate, and Honest Chocolate in particular, at their Honest Chocolate Café on Wale Street. It demonstrated that the brand of artisanal chocolate has evolved in the four years since its launch, and that it cares enough to conduct market research to establish what chocolate lovers like and dislike about the brand.
