Secret Supper Club at Homespun by Matt is unique Magic Music Food Wine Theatre at its best in South Africa!

 

It has taken three days for me to get back down to earth after experiencing the Secret Supper Club at Homespun by Matt in Bloubergstrand on Monday evening, a unique Magic Music Food Wine Theatre experience which places this restaurant amongst the best in our country. Chef Jean Delport becomes second SA Chef to head up a Michelin star restaurant, at Interlude at Leonardslee in the UK!


The most exciting news for the South African restaurant industry is that Interlude, at Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens in the UK, was crowned with a 2020 Michelin star today, the kitchen headed up by South African Chef Jean Delport, formerly of Benguela on Main in Somerset West. It follows in the footsteps of JAN restaurant in Nice, owned by South African Chef Jan-Hendrik van der Westhuizen, which also has one Michelin star. Restaurant Review: Stargarden stays fresh, ingredients out of the Boschendal garden!

Yesterday was the third time that I ate at Stargarden Boutique Café, since it opened in Fish Hoek about six months ago. I had to drop my friend Ali Tanguy in the Deep South, and so it was a perfect opportunity to return to this delightful restaurant, my favourite on that side of Table Mountain.
