New Vicious Virgin Rum Bar not vicious at all, brings French Polynesian Tiki cocktail culture to Cape Town!

 

A new rum bar Vicious Virgin has opened quietly on Wale Street in Cape Town late in December, the first bar to bring the French Polynesian Tiki cocktail culture to Cape Town. Not only can one order specially created rum-based cocktails, but eat there too. Vicious Virgin is the name of a famous rum cocktail. OpenWine hosts Sauvignon Blanc ‘Blind Date’ tasting led by Tom Prior!

I have been an avid supporter of OpenWine, ever since Seth Shezi and I went to pop in to see the wine tasting service and wine shop, which opened on Wale Street in August last year. I enjoyed their weekly wine estate introductions and tastings, which were held for a couple of months. Holden Manz adds creative flavours to its food and wine pairings!

On Friday a group of writers was invited on behalf of Holden Manz, by its marketing consultant Tanya Fourie.  We were taken on a tour of the Holden Manz wine cellar, tasted its latest wine vintages, introduced to the new Holden Manz Chenin Blanc to be launched soon, and spoilt with an excellent lunch prepared by Chef Ricardo Le Roux and paired with some of the Holden Manz wines.  Continue reading →
