Restaurant Winter chill sets in, first restaurants close in Cape Town: July 2017!

SeaBreeze Fish & Shell, The Sunnyside Grill, and the Crazy Horse Gastropub are three new restaurants which opened in Cape Town during June. Two Hout Bay restaurants have closed down as the Winter chill sets in!  Über creative Pastry Chef André Steyn has joined La Colombe.

Platter’s South African Wine Guide 2017 awards record number of 5 star wines!

platters_wine_guide_2017A number of records were broken last night when 94 wines and one brandy were awarded 5 star status at the launch of  the Platter’s by Diners Club South African Wine Guide 2017 at the Table Bay Hotel, a new venue, the event having been held at the Mount Nelson for years. Delaire Graff and Spier share top honours in Prescient Cabernet Sauvignon Report 2016!

imageTwelve out of sixty invited Cabernet Sauvignon wines were judged to be the best in our country, scoring 90 or more out of 100 points in Winemag’s Prescient Cabernet Sauvignon Report 2016, the top wines recognised at a function held at the MOMA Gallery in Bo-Kaap on Thursday.
