The Sweet Service Award goes to Artsauce, for the trouble it took to source A5 writing books, which I buy from them for my note-taking in restaurants and at events. I had placed an order for them, but they had not received delivery in time for me to leave on my trip, so they sent a driver to collect the books from their supplier especially.
The Sour Service Award goes to the Strand Palace Hotel in London, for its charge of £20 for an early check-in, despite my pre-paid room being ready. It also threatened to charge for an ice bucket with ice, but did not do so in the end.
The WhaleTales Sweet & Sour Service Awards are presented every Friday on the WhaleTales blog. Nominations for the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be sent to Chris von Ulmenstein at whalecot [at] iafrica.com. Past winners of the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be read on the Friday posts of this blog.
