Yesterday the German Gala online magazine posted an article about the ‘Hot Spots of Summer’, paired with outfits supplied by LASCANA for each of the six cities on its Hot Spots list.

Cape Town is one of the six Hot Spot Summer destinations on its list.

The magazine writes as follows about Cape Town (translated):  There is a lot to discover in the colourful Bo-Kaap or the trendy shopping mile at the Water Front (sic) – there is so much to discover in Cape Town, that one needs to pack one important item: lots of time. The pulsating Bo-Kaap with its colourful houses and cobblestone streets is in strong contrast to the green hills of the Constantia wine region. Not only does one find good wines, but idyllic hotels too.

Beau Constantia is recommended as a wine estate. Clifton Second Beach is recommended as a beach for swimming, as is Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town, to see the penguins. A must-see is Table Mountain, the icon of the city, with an amazing view. It is recommended that one climb up Table Mountain. #   Swimming in the lakes in Austria, including the Neusiedlsee and the Wörtgersee, popular for seeing and being seen!

#   Beach-seeing in Holland, including the Bloemendaal Beach which has an Ibiza vibe, with its numerous beach parties and pavilions, as well as kite surfers. The Scheveningen Beach offers walks, beach volleyball, or wind surfing.

#   Tropea on the east coast of Italy is the ‘cat walk of Italian High Society’. Good photography backdrops are on the peninsula of Salento. A beach dress or overall is recommended to wear for a sunset cocktail.

#   The island of Gran Canaria offers 6 km of golden dunes at Maspalomas, and the volcano rock of Roque Nublo, one of the largest rocks in the world. Puerto de Mogán offers small cafés, bars and restaurants. Las Palmas is the must-see capital of Gran Canarias.

#   Mauritius is the pearl of the Indian Ocean. One can spend all day on the beaches and in the crystal clear water. Visit the capital Port Louis for its Waterfront shopping and markets, as well as the underwater waterfall in front of the Le Morne Brabant mountain.
