Thursday 30 April 2020, Day 46 of SA Corona Virus, Day 35 of SA Lockdown Level 5 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for another perfect day, with an unbelievable series of sunset pictures, sort of a golden lining and gift to us for surviving 35 days of Lockdown, end of Level 5 for the time being, and the excitement of moving to Level 4, so many blessings to be grateful for; for how light it was at 7h00-ish, which will be the start of my morning exercise time from tomorrow; for finally putting an end to my Hermanus building insurance search, speaking to a delightful Disovery staffer, and saving R1600 between the new Discovery car and building insurance policies; for the number of restaurants and members rolling in to the Take-Away Food Delivery Facebook page; for the stimulation this Food Delivery allowance means to our economy, with so many food trucks driving past my home today; for Kfm Couch-Robics dancing 💃 in my lounge; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I’d written my Blogposts last night, so could indulge in bed a bit longer, and focus on updating the Facebook page, and on getting building insurance quotes. I had high hopes of OUTsurance, but had to speak to three assistants, the last one Carla being fabulous and friendly, but her quote was even higher than what I’ve been paying Auto & General. I called a broker and she took all day to send a quote, even more expensive. So I took another chance on Discovery Insure, trying a different call centre staff member, who was efficient and understandable, and when she told me the premium amount, it felt like Christmas. I signed up immediately. 💙
I heard there would be a Speech by President Cyril tonight, but have not heard anything about it officially. I will need more wine if he does…. 🍷No Speech tonight, the wine is safe…. 😱😷😂

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, and lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
