New vintage Graham Beck’s Gorgeous Pinot Noir Chardonnay 2016 is a gorgeous way to celebrate the day, with a lovely pink and tinge of copper colour. It has spicy and mineral-scented aromas of orange blossom, Jasmine, and pear, with raspberry cream, grapefruit, lime, and honeydew melon flavours in the mouth.
A blend of 59% Pinot Noir and 41% Chardonnay, Gorgeous is a foundation wine made from grapes from young Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines, which eventually are used to make the award-winning Graham Beck Méthode Cap Classique sparkling wines. Harvesting takes place towards the end of January. Grapes are whole-bunch pressed to extract the best quality juice, whereafter fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks. The two wines spent four months on the lees, and were then blended to make the Gorgeous wine.
