Mayoral Committee Member Alderman James Vos has made successful submissions to Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula and Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu to allow Delta Airlines to fly a triangular route between Atlanta, Johannesburg and Cape Town, which will mean a boost for the tourism industry in Cape Town and South Africa, the City of Cape Town reported today.

The new route will complement Delta Airlines’ direct flights between Cape Town and Newark/New York, set to resume in June.

Further airline news is that Air Belgium will start a seasonal route to and from Cape Town from September this year.

Emirates, Air Botswana ans KLM are planning to increase their flight frequency to Cape Town later this year.
