Flight news to enhance Tourism to Cape Town and SA!

 

Mayoral Committee Member Alderman James Vos has made successful submissions to Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula and Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu to allow Delta Airlines to fly a triangular route between Atlanta, Johannesburg and Cape Town, which will mean a boost for the tourism industry in Cape Town and South Africa, the City of Cape Town reported today.

The new route will complement Delta Airlines’ direct flights between Cape Town and Newark/New York, set to resume in June.

Cape Town Tourism launches ‘Find your Freedom’ marketing campaign in London, New York, Berlin, and Cape Town!

 

Cape Town Tourism launched its most significant marketing campaign ever last night, the ‘Find your Freedom’ interactive immersive campaign launching simultaneously in Cape Town, Berlin, London and New York. The launch took place at the Zeitz MOCAA.

Intended to run until the end of the year, the ‘Find your Freedom’ campaign is aimed at Millennials, described as travellers who would prefer to be guided in a City than to buy and use a guide book. The traveller chooses the adventure, and finds his/her freedom.  Continue reading →

World’s 50 Best excludes Russian Restaurants and Bars from its 2022 Awards Lists!

 

The anti-Russian sentiment has spread around the USA and Europe in particular, and now is affecting the restaurant industry, with American chain food outlets such as McDonalds stopping trading in Russia, Burger King being an exception, it continuing to trade.

It was a surprise nevertheless when the World’s 50 Best compilers of Best Restaurants and Best Bars in the World announced that it would exclude Russian Restaurants and Bars from their 2022 evaluations. No other international restaurant lists have followed suit to date.

European Union follows the lead of Germany and France in dropping its Travel Bans against South Africa and its neighbours!

 

More good news for South Africa is that the 27 countries of the European Union will be following Germany and France in lifting their travel bans against South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Mozambique,  Botswana, and Eswatini, according to a report today by BusinessTech.
