Time magazine has named Franschhoek one of the 2022 World’s Greatest Places, out of a total of 50 Places.

The village was included in the list for its wine farms, unique scenery, high-class food options, and range of activities it offers, reports BusinessTech.

Time sought nominations from its correspondents and contributors, highlighting places ‘offering new and exciting experiences’.

The Time listing highlights Klein Goederust wine estate, Franschhoek’s first Black-owned wine farm, Paul Siguqa’s wine farm being over 100 years old. The restaurant on the estate is run by

Chef Linda Abrahams.

Another new restaurant that has opened in Franschhoek is Deux Lions on the La Bourgogne Wine Estate. It is headed up by Chef Nanda Cardoso, previously at Chefs Warehouse Bree Street.

Accommodation establishment Sterrekopje is also mentioned.
