The Sweet Service Award goes to freeRange Jewels in the Cape Quarter, for offering to replace a butterfly with a stronger stabiliser to hold a pearl on my jacket lapel, having picked this up spontaneously when I attended the launch of the Jenny Morris-inspired range at the jewellery story three weeks ago. While I was in the store to collect the pearl, they repaired a link to a charm for my bracelet as well, all done with a smile and at no charge! One can see why Giggling Gourmet Chef Jenny Morris has associated herself with this brand, and why she loves their jewellery.
The Sour Service Award goes to SA National Parks, for increasing the fee to sit in an open safari vehicle in the Kruger National Park for foreign visitors to R248 from November, 400% more than locals will have to pay at R62, reports Hotel & Restaurant. Visitors from surrounding countries (SADC members) will pay a reduced rate of R124 relative to international visitors, but is still double the local rate! The aim is to attract more local visitors to the Park, the magazine was told.
