At a lunch hosted in honour of India Republic Day on 26 January by Mr Analjit Singh at his residence in New Dehli, and at which President François Hollande was the guest of honour, two South African wines were served.
Mullineux and Leeu Family Wines Syrah 2013 and White Blend 2013 were the two South African wines on the wine list. The wine list also included three French wines, Dom Pérignon 2000, Cotat Sancerre Les Caillotes 2014, and Gigondas Chateau de Saint Cosme 2013.
Mr Singh is an investor in Mullineux and Leeu Family Wines, and has extensive luxury hospitality interests in Franschhoek, a valley he has fallen in love with. He owns Leeu House, which opened in December, Le Quartier Français, and Leeu Estates, which opens in May. A brewery and a restaurant within the Leeu Collection will open in Franschhoek in the next few months.
