Pierneef à La Motte Sweet Service and Ice Cream Community Sour Service Awards!

Pierneef a La MotteThe Sweet Service Award goes to Pierneef à La Motte and its Manager Pierre Theron, who is an angel in always making a plan to find  a table for our Whale Cottage Franschhoek guests, who often request us to book restaurants for the weekend in the last minute.  Usually the reservations staff at the restaurant tell me that they are fully booked, but when I ask for Pierre he always makes a plan to organise a table, making our guests delighted with the excellent service.

Ice Cream CommunityThe Sour Service Award goes to Ice Cream Community, an artisanal ice cream company in Stellenbosch, which blocked us on Twitter when we Tweeted about it only having 5 tubs of ice cream in their branded fridge in The Handle Bar in Sea Point, and that their tubs had halved in size while keeping the price of R25 the same.   It was when I wanted to add additional feedback via Twitter’s Direct Message service about the poor and slow service by the outlet that I realised that we had been blocked, without any other response. On their website, there is no contact number (one can only e-mail), and it appears that they have not Facebook in months nor Tweeted, nor updated their website in two years, in not listing their Cape Town stockists!  In the past year we have Tweeted every new outlet and flavour of Ice Cream Community, to their satisfaction.

The WhaleTales Sweet & Sour Service Awards are presented every Friday on the WhaleTales blog.  Nominations for the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be sent to Chris von Ulmenstein at  whalecot@iafrica.com.   Past winners of the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be read on the Friday posts of this blog.  FOR THE DURATION OF MASTERCHEF SA SEASON 3 WE ARE MOVING THE SWEET & SOUR SERVICE AWARDS TO SATURDAYS.
