Sweet Service Award goes to Labotessa Café; Sour Service Award goes to Department of Home Affairs!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Labotessa Café in the Hotel with the same name, and its owner Johan du Plessis.  The Café serves the most delicious Dutch-style apple tart and cream, and has become a special hide-away break on Church Square in the City.  On a former visit to the Café I had shared with Johan how wonderful the Dyptique shampoo which he had gifted me is for my hair. As I left the Café, his assistant handed me a packet with more Dyptique shampoo and conditioner. Yesterday I popped in for another slice of tart after a client meeting, and Johan and I had a long conversation in the cosy Dutch-inspired Café. He refused to accept my payment for the tart.

The Sour Service Award goes to the Department of Home Affairs. I need a letter from the Department to confirm that I have never applied for South African citizenship, for the renewal of my German passport. When I arrived there, I was told that the Department is not offering this service during Lockdown!
