The Sweet Service Award goes to Labotessa Hotel and its owner Johan du Plessis, for yet another gift of its fabulous Diptyque shampoo and conditioner when I recently ate breakfast there with a friend, both of us being fans of the hotel’s Café.
The Sour Service Award goes to Pick n Pay Camps Bay. The store has offered poor service for years, yet their managers usually have been kind and friendly. Earlier this week I went to shop there, and waited for a cashier to finish her chat with a colleague before she called me to her till. She gave me attitude about not having come forward earlier, just cheeky and unfriendly. I asked to speak to the lovely new Manager Domenico, but he was out delivering groceries to a local customer. I left my number with a supervisor, and he has not yet returned the call!
