The Sweet Service Award goes to Woolworths in the Waterfront, and its Supervisor Tasleem Murat in the Ladies shoes/underwear/sleepwear department, hardly a space in which I expected a male. I first found him when looking for assistance to find a pair of boots in my size, and Tasleem helped me find them. Then I needed pantyhose, and again he found the right size and c9lour for me. I saw a pair of slippers, the only left in the store, and he offered it to me at half price as it had a Pom Pom which had come loose, something I could easily sew together again. And I asked him where I could find a room perfume, and he found three bottles in another department, currently on a special. As the perfume bottles did not have lids, he looked for a shoe box for me to put them into safely, so that they could not lose their content. I had to pinch myself, questioning whether this amazing service could be true!
The Sour Service Award goes to the Table Mountain National Park, for reopening Lion’s Head to hikers on 1 March, despite a renovated section not yet completed, and with chains not secured properly, meaning a huge danger to the lives of hikers. The most dangerous actions have been closed again, after these deficiencies were reported on Social Media.
