The Sweet Service Award goes to Vergenoegd and its Restaurant Manager Jason van der Merwe, who organised a cappuccino and a slice of passion fruit tart with sesame seed brittle from the Harvest Table lunch on a visit last Sunday afternoon, the wine estate only operating with a full-on restaurant from October onwards.
The Sour Service Award goes to Action TV, for their installation of a new DSTV decoder as well as replacing a box TV with a provided flatscreen TV. Despite explaining on the phone what was to be done, they arrived without a drill and it had to be brought to my house by a colleague, necessitating them to return the following day. In addition to the decoder cost, I was charged R600 for the call-out and labour, and an additional R250 to hang the TV!
The WhaleTales Sweet & Sour Service Awards are presented every Friday on the WhaleTales blog. Nominations for the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be sent to Chris von Ulmenstein at whalecot@iafrica.com. Past winners of the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be read on the Friday posts of this blog.
