*   The Reserve Bank has left the Repo rate unchanged, but has warned that the inflationary pressure from petrol price increases and a weak Rand could influence the rate in future.

*   The City of Cape Town is setting up a company to manage the Cape Town Stadium, an asset which is costing the City and its ratepayers large sums of money due to losses made, at about R36 million a year! The establishment of the company is to be approved at the Mayoral Committee meeting today, which will then create a business hub around the Stadium, including restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.  The total amount of lettable space, including offices, is 20000 m²!  The City will be the majority shareholder of the company.

*   Bouchard Finlayson will sponsor the Tollman Bouchard Finlayson Art Award Tondo Competition for the second year, as part of the Hermanus FynArts Festival running from 5 – 16 June. Prizes total R45000 for the winning art executed on barrel heads.  The wine estate is also sponsoring and hosting a concert by soprano Bronwen Forbay on 14 June. *   Delaire Graff has opened a new handbag and accessories boutique VanaShree, stocking items made from ethically sourced crocodile, ostrich, python, and stingray leather by its owner Vanashree Singh. (received via media release from Waterford Communications)

*   The V&A Waterfront is hosting its monthly Good Night Market next Wednesday 27 May from 18h00 – 21h00, at its new Watershed, celebrating local creativity. Live music, food trucks, art exhibitions, and a bar will entertain visitors.  A photography exhibition is by Per-Anders Pettersson, a Doodle Session goes to a good cause, and live portraits will be drawn for free.  Entrance is free.
