* The cost of the devastating fires to the Table Mountain National Park early this month is estimated at R6 million, not only for the fire-fighting costs, but also for facilities damaged or destroyed, and lost income in having to close the Silvermine and Tokai recreation areas for the next 6 – 24 months.
* Sun International is to buy the Peermont Group, consisting of nine casino resorts in our country and in Botswana, for R9,4 billion.
* The second season of the ‘Clover Little Big Cook Off‘ will be aired from 28 June on SABC3, with judges and hosts Chefs Martin Kobald and Coco Reinartz, and hostess Zuraida Jardine, reports Hotel & Restaurant. Prizes to the value of R1 million can be won.
* Comair seems set to be appointed the airline to transfer guests once a week between St Helena and Johannesburg when the airport on the island has been completed next year. The St Helena Government motivated its choice of airline as follows: ‘kulula is a breath of fresh air in the African market, combining safety, technology and humor. That airline brings fun to travel whilst delivering outstanding value. Comair is a South African aviation and travel company offering scheduled and non-scheduled airline services within South Africa, sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.
