#Grateful for a relaxed smooth-flowing organized day; for no wind at all, on a 27C day; for a brisk uphill walk with Imtiaz, from Victoria Road in Bakoven Β to Ingleside Road and back, giving me a good Cardio workout and 300 points; for 2 Discovery Gameboard plays just after midnight and just before Loadshedding, not getting enough points to buy a voucher; Β for receiving just over R500 back from Discovery Insure for good driving and lower petrol usage; for getting some of my work for tomorrow done today; for receiving a R300 voucher from Royal Canin for kitten food, but how to cash it in is still a riddle; for a R50 discount voucher from Checkers60 which I used to buy Whiskas pouches, the favorite of my Kits, my total saving being R15 as they charge R35 delivery…. 😱; for an early morning call from Barbara Lenhard, who is back in Cape Town with her Flo for a few weeks, arranging a dinner date; for another walk during Loadshedding this afternoon, and using the time to do some non-internet admin; and for being happy and healthy. πŸ™πŸ’™ Continue reading →

#Grateful for a hot 30C day, with just a breeze now; for a strenuous Camps Bay walk with Imtiaz, cleaning half of Camps Bay Drive, from Houghton Road to Ingleside Road, gaining 300 Discovery points; for Johnny Nortje driving with me to fetch the kitten Mr Grey (of 50 Shades of….,) in Plumstead, stopping for a half an hour lunch at Botanicum in Constantia; for Mr Grey being at home immediately, exploring, sitting on my lap at my desk, and sleeping next to me; for receiving 560 points in two Discovery Gameboard plays; and for being happy and healthy. πŸ™πŸ’™ Continue reading →

#Grateful for a lovely sunny day, not too hot at 24C and a mild breeze this afternoon; for two Discovery Game board plays just after midnight, scoring enough Miles to get a Woolies R100 voucher for 750 Miles, which I promptly more than spent in a Woolies shopping trip this afternoon, keeping it very healthy; for a quick Bakoven walk before my housekeeper Portia arrived; for a busy morning writing for my client, being proud to execute instructions almost immediately; for my tidy and clean home and freshly made bed πŸ’™ ; for successfully getting my Discovery Insure premium paid, compared to yesterday’s drama; for successfully getting a Loot order completed with telephonic assistance by Janine; for a longer uphill walk between Victoria Road and Camps Bay Drive, to get to Woolies, bumping into Merryl Wyatt on the way, previous almost-neighbours in my former guest house days; and for being happy and healthy. πŸ™πŸ’™ Continue reading →

#Grateful for a beautiful 29C day, the wind picking up late this afternoon; for the Fire Department extinguishing a third fire in four days near the Kramat outside Bakoven; for a busy working morning; for an attempt at sleeping this afternoon; for a walk to Bakoven, which had little litter, and to Camps Bay, which had signs of persons eating and drinking on the lawns, just leaving their empties when finished 😱; for fabulous service from Pick n Pay Manager Odwa, inviting me to a special faster counter so that I could pay my City of Cape Town account; for my first 1000 Discovery Miles of 2021…. 49000 to go; and for being happy and healthy. πŸ™πŸ’™ Continue reading →

Thank you 2020 for everything that you have taught me, my Top 20 of 2020!

 

I was very excited about the year 2020, having the 20th as a birthdate, and it being my lucky number. Despite the tragedy of the Corona Virus pandemic and the inconvenience of the Lockdown regulations at times, 2020 turned out to be one of my best ever, learning from it and growing through it.

#Grateful for a beautiful beach of a day… at 29C, making Camps Bay busy, persons just coming for a walk, a supermarket shop, or a restaurant treat, and a few persons chancing it by running on the beach or into the ocean, Law Enforcement being very vigilant in checking; for a good sleep last night, feeling very relaxed, and happy for my Resting Heart Rate’s good drop down to 57 bears per minute; for some writing this morning, followed by a 2 hour afternoon sleep; for posting my three SwitchBitch books to Honene Bain Roux to Wellington (my old home town) via Pick n Pay’s Aramex courier service πŸ™; for a walk with my cleaning team through the Camps Bay beachfront, checking for litter, so happy that there is so little; for 200 Discovery Miles today; and for being happy and healthy. πŸ™πŸ’™ Continue reading →

#Grateful for a 7 hour solid sleep, much better than my usual 5 hours; a beautiful 27C sunny day, the wind coming up now; so grateful for how clean Camps Bay looks; for being happy that Imtiaz and Carmen are both back at work today, starting their day with tea at my home, their work now deep-cleaning; for an energetic walk through Bakoven and up the lanes in lower Bakoven, I continuing on a Litter Mission of another kind, earning me 500 Discovery points, a number which seems incorrect, as 300 is usually the max 😱; for a later walk to the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, only one couple picnicking on the lawn, so happy to see β€˜my’ stream so clean; for Kfm broadcasting road closures news which I sent to the DJ when traffic was closed between Camps Bay and Hout Bay due to another Bakoven fire, with a huge thanks to the fire services for getting it under control; and for being happy and healthy. πŸ™πŸ’™ Continue reading →
