The Eat Out Restaurant Awards were held for the first time in three years today, an eagerly awaited event, given the impact of the Lockdown on the restaurant industry, and the change in the restaurant awards system, restaurants no longer ranked, but rated with 1, 2 or 3 stars.

On Friday New Media Publishing shared the shock news that its Eat Out Editor and head judge Abigail Donnelly is stepping down and away from Eat Out at the end of this month, to concentrate solely on her involvement with TASTE magazine, published for Woolworths, in a new enlarged role of Foods Marketing Creative Manager in addition to her role as Food Editor of the magazine! This comes after a promise made by Eat Out last year that no change in the judging panel is to take place, justifying why it had kept the judging panel anonymous for the first time!
