Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Grateful for a most beautiful day at close to 30C, with very little wind this afternoon even though the mountains were shrouded in clouds; for an early trip to the Waterfront, where Brian Van Hansen took some pics after heโ€™d finished playing the piano for breakfast at The Table Bay Hotel, which I needed for my Tour Guiding Operator in Canada; for Brian accompanying me in running through the Waterfront, doing last minute shopping and chores before Christmas; for the Waterfront having a Covid Marshall, addressing people not wearing their masks; for getting my car wheel pressure indicator reset, still not being able to do it after 5 years, Hennie Kriel having spoilt me at Audi; for spoiling myself with a Dairy Den ice cream; for a walk through a reasonably busy Camps Bay; for a special call with Barbara Lenhard, not having spoken since she and Florian returned to Germany 8 months ago, and hoping to fly to Cape Town tomorrow evening; for having dinner at Utopia with Vivian Warby this evening; and for being happy and healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Grateful for a day with a difference, a Roadtrip to Stellenbosch with Jenny Stephens; for a good meeting with one of my beach cleaners; for wine shopping at Woolies Stellenbosch Square to make use of their 25% discount; for buying poppyseed rolls at Dinkel, and homemade Quark (Cottage cheese) at the German Grocer, both of which were kept for me; for a pop-in at Delaire Graff, congratulating the new Chef Kayla-Ann Osborn and greeting GM Johann Laubser; for a smooth easy drive to and from Cape Town; for the highlight of a Tasting of a number of dishes on the menu of the brand new De Vleispaleis on Dorp Street, owned by my friend Stuart Bailey; and for being happy and healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Gratitude for a lovely rainy afternoon, allowing me to catch up on sleep with Minsky after a very short restless night, being on top of most of my work, a delicious little bunk; my day started with what was an unpleasant meeting initially but we found each other at the end of it, but still upsetting when one is blamed by implication for trying to do good for the community, negativity and community politics being evident, hardly needing this ๐Ÿ˜ฑ; for being extremely well prepared for an apartment owner Zoom meeting to discuss Body Corporate repairs needed, amazing what power it gives one; for a lovely refreshing walk after the sleep, peeping inside the new Starbucks, which has brought its opening forward to tomorrow; for the loveliest sunset at the Tidal Pool and along Bali Bay when I walked home, it and the earlier Bakoven walk helping to take away the stress of the two meetings today, despite getting caught in the rain in the earlier walk, with lots of litter around to pick up today; and for being happy and healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Grateful for a rainy start and end to the day, it clearing during the day, a pleasant 21C; for my housekeeper Portia coming to do a thorough Christmas clean of my home with me, long not done ๐Ÿ˜ฑ, and always loving getting into a freshly-made bed; for Minsky and I grateful for Portiaโ€™s company, as Henry was off ill today, Minsky sticking closer to home today and not making any sounds and seeming to need a sleep catch-up after her exciting day yesterday; for receiving the Festive Season operating hours for Pick n Pay and Woolworths in Camps Bay; for a relaxed walk in Camps Bay, the Beachfront area being very quiet; for dancing to Dansdag on Kfm; for being happy and healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →
