SA Bar Awards 2020 winners announced, sadly some have closed down during Covid!

 

The SA Bar Awards 2020 reflected the state of the bar tendering industry of South Africa, it being announced that the event would be cancelled for this year as Lockdown gripped our country, and the Alcohol-serving establishments closing their doors as Covid regulations forbade them from operating during a large part of our five Level Lockdown. Sadly some bars became casualties of the Lockdown. Other bars have not even reopened. A delight was to see some of these Bars win Awards at the SA Bar Awards, which were resurrected as a virtual event held on Monday this week. Continue reading →

New Vicious Virgin Rum Bar not vicious at all, brings French Polynesian Tiki cocktail culture to Cape Town!

 

A new rum bar Vicious Virgin has opened quietly on Wale Street in Cape Town late in December, the first bar to bring the French Polynesian Tiki cocktail culture to Cape Town. Not only can one order specially created rum-based cocktails, but eat there too. Vicious Virgin is the name of a famous rum cocktail. Restaurant Review: Seabreeze Fish & Shell offers variety of Africa-sourced fish dishes at reasonable prices!

One of Cape Town’s newest restaurants is Seabreeze Fish & Shell, the owner-run seafood restaurant which opened on Bree Street in February, as a pop-up focused on serving oysters initially.
