The Sweet Service Award goes to Hazendal, and its Guest Relations Manager Willem van der Merwe, for showing Gary Peterson and I around the wine estate for 45 minutes, the time it took the kitchen to prepare a Russian Tea Ceremony for us at short notice. Willem is a mine of information about the 300 year plus history of Hazendal. He found us in the restaurant, and offered to show us around, without us asking for it.
