Last week I ate lunch at Garden restaurant at the renowned Bayerischer Hof hotel in Munich, a spontaneous decision after having done some business with Deutsche Bank across the road. I was super impressed with the service offered by the proactive PR department of the hotel, but did not like the arrogance I experienced!

Vicky Cristina’s is the name of a movie made by Woody Allen. Now a Spanish style restaurant with the name of the movie has opened in Camps Bay. Vicky Cristina’s tapas bar y restaurante españo is inexpensive, has an upmarket interior, and good service.

Restaurant Review: Jan Restaurant haven of style, superb cuisine, and SA hospitality in Nice!
Last Friday my life changed, when I had the pleasure of meeting the nicest possible Chef Jan-Hendrik van der Westhuizen in the world, and eating at his Nice-based Jan Restaurant, which opened almost two years ago. To my knowledge it is the 
only South African chef-owned restaurant listed in a Michelin Guide!

Tiger’s Milk Restaurant & Bar serves ‘dude food’!
Muizenberg is a surfers’ paradise in Cape Town, and local surfers have found a new home once out of the ocean at Tiger’s Milk on the beachfront. Tiger’s Milk Restaurant & Bar is a new addition to the restaurant collection of Michael Townsend, who already own Harbour House in Kalk Bay and in the V&A Waterfront, La Parada in Kalk Bay and on Bree Street, and a growing number of Lucky Fish take-away and sit-down restaurants in Cape Town.
The Tiger’s Milk brand name came from an idea Michael had to launch a craft beer for his restaurant collection, and he thought it a perfect name for his new homely bar and restaurant too. It serves ‘dude food‘, Michael told me, perfect for the hunger built up once the surfers return to land.
