The winners of the inaugural Classeq Zomato Users’ Choice Awards 2017 have been announced, with El Burro winning the Cape Town section of the competition, and Wine House at Ten Bompas winning in Johannesburg.
The two winning restaurants won a Classeq glass washer each, with a six month supply of detergents, to the value of R40000. Close runner-up restaurants were Jerry’s Burger Bar and The Test Kitchen in Cape Town; and Gemelli Cucina & Licorish Bar in Johannesburg. Zomato restaurant app was a co-sponsor of the awards.
The competition was launched earlier this year, with restaurant patrons voting for their favorite restaurants in April and May. The award events were held at Open Door in Constantia, Cape Town, and at The Federal in Johannesburg.
Classeq has announced that it plans to host the Users’ Choice Awards again next year, a restaurant awards system which is unique in being driven by restaurant user votes.
