Thursday 16 April 2020, Day 32 of SA Corona Virus, Day 21 of SA Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the lovely gentle rain all morning, which made me stay and work in bed, my best indulgence since Lockdown started three weeks ago; for the weather turning into a warm and sunny afternoon, allowing to me to do a Vit D catch up on the terrace; for a walk to the shops for Essentials, picking up litter on the way, surprised to see empty alcohol bottles lying around near the stream; for hearing from my Munich friend Marlene Du Plessis-Zoetl for the first time in three weeks since she became terribly ill; for dancing around my couch 500 plus times to exceed my step goal; for the last day of the first three weeks of Lockdown; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

While it was nice to work in bed this rainy morning, it did lead to naughty munchies, far too early for my usual first eating time at 13h00, on my Intermittent Fasting. Must do more exercise to make up. 😱👣 I wrote a Blogpost about AfriForum taking the Department of Tourism to court next week, for its ‘race-related’ criteria to receive funding from the Tourism Relief Fund.

When the rain stopped, I went to the shops. All the clouds cleared away, except for a veil around Lion’s Head. A late dramatic sunset.

This afternoon the Government announced a relaxation of some Lockdown regulations, and I am happy for parents sharing custody of their children. There is no easing of cigarette and alcohol sales yet. Ewn News said on Kfm that there could be a slight lifting of Lockdown in 1 May 2020. I sat down and write a Blogpost about the revised regulations.

Marlene from Munich shared that she has been moved out of two weeks in ICU to a general ward, after a severe bout of the Corona Virus. ❤️❤️❤️ This is what she wrote:

‘Dear Friends and Fam who all held me in their hearts and prayers. I want to say thank you to all of you and for the Love shared. Have never been so ill because of a virus before. Was in an induced Coma for 2 weeks so my lungs could recover. Wish and pray many in SA dont get it. But like it has now been confirmed, most of the time this virus is brought home without your knowledge. Being released from IC. Being released from ICU today and onto a normal Station and have to relearn everything again. How to eat, drink and regain my mobility again. Sending love
MArlene’.

SA Corona Status 2605 cases 48 deaths 😷😥

The Corona Virus Lockdown, announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, and subsequently extended to 30 April, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
